The Stoneman runs along a scenically beautiful route. The trail sections, root and stone passages are doable - but require a minimum of bike control. In case of doubt, difficult passages can be bypassed or pushed in an emergency.

In terms of endurance: The Stoneman is not a race, but your individual challenge. The bronze tour over three days is also well feasible for motivated occasional riders - or for all those for whom the adventure and the landscape experience are in the foreground.

Each Stoneman lasts from 1 to 3 days – we call it Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Decide for yourself whether you want to complete the route in one day, take three days to enjoy nature or choose the middle way and ride for two days.

By the way: If you realize during your ride that you have taken on too much or too little, you can also change the category in between. For example from gold to silver – or the other way around!

Just let your issuing office know.

The Stoneman season is deliberately set so that you can enjoy this unique nature experience to the fullest. Each season has its own highlights to offer.

Thus, the season on the Stoneman Arduenna goes from 13. April to 15. September in agreement with the Forestry and Conservation Offices. You will not be allowed to ride the Stoneman outside of this period. It is crucial that you stay on the Stoneman route during the sunny hours to give the beautiful flora and fauna along the route room to rest at night. From June to August you have the most time for your Stoneman, during these months the daily sunshine hours are over 13 hours.

Each Stoneman stands for a carefully planned route that takes you along cultural and scenic highlights. This makes the Stoneman also attractive for you and your E-MTB! You are also entitled to the trophy with a natural-colored stone. To be fair to your non-motorized fellow riders, your entry on the finisher list will receive a small lightning bolt as an addition.

As a former mountain bike pro, Roland looks back on an impressive career - in addition to numerous victories and podium finishes around the globe, he is also the overall winner of the UCI MTB Marathon World Series. We always try to provide the perfect mountain bike experience. This of course includes exclusive trails tailored to bikers. Unfortunately, this makes the Stoneman Arduenna trail profile hardly suitable for running or hiking.

The better option are our trail running and hiking trails: The Stoneman Dolomiti Hike in South Tyrol and the  Stoneman Glaciara Hike offer you exclusive adventures on foot.

Sufficient water is the A&O for every Stoneman. Especially on hot days we recommend a hydration backpack.

There are two water stations on the Stoneman Arduenna.

At the Stoneman Arduenna, the luggage transfer is organized directly by the Tourismusagentur Ostbelgien and can be booked here. The price per bag and day is 25,00 €. Please note that our luggage transfer only runs between our official lodging partners!

Each Stoneman represents a perfectly designated circuit that highlights the cultural and scenic highlights of the region. You are free to choose how you split your Stoneman.

If you do not have a suitable bike, you can of course also rent good Mountainbikes und E-MTBs on site. Here you will find numerous options to rent the perfect bike for you and your tour.

The Stoneman is a unique experience whose breathtaking scenery is revealed to you both alone and in company. If you prefer to travel in company, you can also take part in a guided tour.

Although experience has shown that the scheduled season dates provide good guidance, extreme weather conditions may result in detour of sections. The Stoneman Arduenna season 2024 starts on 13. April and ends on 15. September.

The Stoneman is a promise of quality - as such, our official lodging partners meet certain requirements.

Be it safe storage, bike wash or tools - here you feel comfortable with your bike. At the same time, the handling of the Stoneman-Challenge is most comfortable at the lodging partners, as you will receive your starter package as well as your trophy directly here and have a direct contact person in case of questions. Furthermore, we offer an exclusive luggage transfer for Stoneman starters between our lodging partners. Reasons enough to book directly with one of our lodging partners. Should you nevertheless decide for another accommodation, the starter packages will be handed out at one of the official distribution points.

Alternatively, the first team member can register with your team name and will then receive an individual team link for registration with the registration mail, where the team name is already entered.

"A minimum of equipment is strongly recommended. A replacemnt tube, tire lever, pump and minitool are recommended on every tour, especially for a special experience like the Stoneman. Valve inserts, a chain riveter and a spare chain can also save you time and nerves in an emergency. Here we have compiled a corresponding checklist for you.

The official start of your Stoneman will be at your lodging partner or your official drop-off point. In principle, each of our lodging partners has sufficient parking space available. To be on the safe side, we recommend a quick call to your chosen starting point.

By making a reservation, we guarantee the availability of your starter package on the specified start date - either at an official distribution point or at your lodging partner.

On site you can pick up your starter package the afternoon before the tour - also those of your team members, as long as the team name on the reservations matches.

If collection is not possible for any reason, it is best to contact your planned issuing office directly. Sending the starter packs by mail is not possible for logistical reasons.

Here you will receive your starter package after your registration and after the tour with the presentation of the completely punched starter card your deserved Stoneman trophy.

On the Stoneman we do our best to keep the praised signposting complete and up to date. In addition, you will receive a detailed route map with the Classic starter package. Especially for Gold-Starters we recommend the additional use of the GPX-Track, so you can enjoy the Stoneman-Flow without unwanted stops. Three days before the start you will receive the latest track by mail, which also includes detours due to storm damage.

The Stoneman Bike trails are basically designed for mountain bikes.

Ideally, you ride a MTB suitable for touring with which you are well acquainted. For very experienced riders, the dry trails are also passable with the gravel bike.

The entire route of the Stoneman is extensively signposted. Before and after each intersection you will find a corresponding directional sign. In addition, for longer straight stretches, there is another sign after each intersection that confirms your direction. Especially for Gold riders we recommend the additional use of the GPX track, so you can enjoy the Stoneman flow without unwanted stops. You will always receive the current GPX track by mail three days before your start. You can use either GPS devices or apps that work offline after downloading the map section, for example OsmAnd or Komoot.

The Stoneman lodging partners are perfectly adapted to the needs of bikers. Your bike will be safely stored in a separate room. So you can sit back after each stage without worry and review your Stoneman experience.

Basically, the Stoneman starter card will be handed in where you received it, i.e. at your lodging partner or your official issuing office.

You can find the opening hours for the starter pack service here for the lodging partners and the official distribution points. If your drop-off takes place outside of opening hours, please consult with your drop-off location in advance.

Usually, your lodging partner or the issuing office will finish the trip right after you return, show your punched card, and pick up your stone or trophy, if applicable. If there is a lot of business, this may take a day. If your name is not on the list after one day, please contact your partner or send us a message to hello@stoneman.bike. If you have already received your finisher mail, but your name is not on the list, then you probably forgot to check the corresponding box during registration. If you want us to do this for you, please let us know as well. You are already a Stoneman Hero after several rides? It is important that you register with the same email address and name each time.

As a Stoneman finisher, you've earned the discount on your jersey.

You will receive the voucher code after your tour with the finisher mail. If you have lost the code, just write us an email with your name, start date and issuing point or lodging partner to shop@stoneman.bike and we will send you your code again.

You have truly earned your trophy!

Don't worry - after the successful completion of the Stoneman Arduenna you will receive an email with all the necessary information. There you will find, among other things, the link to the exclusive finisher store, where you can order your stone or trophy later, in addition to other cool merchandise.
